Café Wilder is managed by Birgitte who strive to create a nice atmosphere added with very delicious food, a kind service and a touch of humour all served you with a smile.

Café Wilder is a charming mix of the old part of Copenhagen called Christianshavn with all the old restored houses, the canals with the boats and a great number of regular local customers who consider Wilder as their personal “waterhole” combined with delicious food from our kitchen that has it’s roots in the French and Italian kitchen.

Every day we serve a simple breakfast with the best white and dark bread and you can top with the famous “Bangs” marmalade which is based upon an old recipe where the marmalade is preserved raw to give the optimum flavour.

Saturday and Sunday from 10 am until 2 pm we serve our famous “Brunch”.

A lunch at Café Wilder is simple, has character, is lean and consists of a large selection of vegetable and pasta salads added with lean meat or red meat. Wilders warm lunch menu is based upon very good raw materials. If you are up to a sandwich then ours is made with the best Italian baked bread in Copenhagen (by Antonio, the uncle of Francesco) and topped with delicious Italian ham or tomatoes and mozzarella cheese

Every evening we make a complete new menu based upon fresh raw materials where your choices are between:

1 Today’s special
1 main course - fish
1 main course - meat
2 Desserts 

Never forget our coffee. Birgitte has spent several years in Italy and learned to put great demands on our coffee which is brewed on the best beans from the espresso to the café Latte and cappuccino. The POLITIKKEN Newspaper called our Espresso “terrific”.

From 10pm until 02 in the morning our staff takes good care of you while you enjoy your drink or a coffee with an “avec” weather it be a Cognac, a Marc, a Calvados, and old Scotch or an Amaro from Italy etc. we have got it. Several types of draft beer Denmark and abroad is also in the assortment.  

Café Wilder is also close to the financial quarters of Copenhagen, to the Ministry of Foreign affairs so it is the place where you enjoy yourself in a wonderful local setting added with a touch of international atmosphere because some of our guests also come from countries like Italy, France, Spain, Brazil and other beautiful countries.

If you mix this with the Danish “spice” from our local regular guests and a touch of delight to the eye from eying the beautiful painting by the painter Lars Helweg showing a nude study of the famous actress Anita Ekberg then what more can you ask of life except a glass of good wine or a glass of well brewed beer.
